JJ scores public sector hat-trick
JJ Foodservice is celebrating having been awarded three more public sector contracts, worth £3.5 million, and is planning for more with a targeted recruitment push
The foodservice wholesaler can now add Barnsley, Bolton and Bradford Councils as customers, alongside Kirklees and Leeds Councils, bringing the total number of schools being supported in the north of England to more than 650.
“Our fuel-efficient fleet and digitalised ordering process will help to offer schools nutritious options while helping to reduce their carbon footprint,” said Baris Kacar, Chief Sales Officer.
JJ supplies schools with thousands of fresh, chilled, ambient, and frozen goods, including packaging products, 75% of which are fully compostable. JJ’s investment in telematics helps the wholesaler to optimise routes and fuel efficiency. It also plan to install solar panels across every UK branch by the end of the year and is working with an increasing number of local suppliers.
“We are on a journey to do business the right way,” said Baris. “We hope we can help schools to achieve their sustainability targets in the process.”
JJ is targeting public sector contracts with a new recruitment push for dedicated public sector, education catering and prison catering sales roles.
“Prisons, hospitals and other public sector institutions all need access to high quality, affordable and reliable food suppliers,” said Baris. “We are well positioned to help and look forward to supporting more caterers across the UK.”
