Inventor to make choc fans go ‘madbury’

Cadbury campaign invites public to create their own bar

If you’ve ever watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and fancied coming up with your own creation, now’s your chance after Cadbury invited the public to invent their own chocolate bar.

With more than 90,000 combinations of ingredients to choose from, chocolate lovers will have a host of options to create a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar that combines the classic taste with their dream flavours. And, what’s more, if your bar is selected as the nation’s favourite new invention, it will be added to Cadbury’s iconic range, which includes favourites such as Caramel and Fruit & Nut.

To create your own dream bar, simply visit cadburyinventor.com to choose from a huge range of tasty ingredients, including gooey brownie, spicy chilli, tangy orange and fiery mustard. But be warned, you can only choose three at a time.

Entrants will have until 31 July to create a bar of their own, with three lucky finalists invited to Cadbury’s Chocolate Centre of Excellence in Bournville, where they’ll work with chocolate experts to experiment with their creations and make their bar become a reality.

Cadbury’s Director of Research and Development, David Shepherd, said: “This is the first time we’ve opened the doors to our fans to help us create the next bar and we can’t wait to see how creative they get.

“With different flavours, from nutty, herby and spicy and a wealth of fruity flavours to choose from, we’re encouraging the nation to go madbury and be as bold as possible in what to choose. It’ll be great to see the imagination of our fans shine through and now we have the chance to make the first fan-based Cadbury Dairy Milk bar a reality for our lucky finalists.”

For the record, Wholesale News went for marshmallows, almonds and chilli. Yeah, we don’t think we’ll win either!
