When you commit to a career in wholesale, we'll commit to you! Up to £3,000 of funding is available through FWD to food and drink wholesalers, to help build skills and encourage learning, from TikTok courses to degrees

Who can apply?

Any member of the FWD, individual member of a buying group within FWD, or SPAR UK wholesaler can apply for funding. Applicants will need to identify how the proposed training will be of value in their current role, benefit their career and personal development.

Employers must explain how the proposed training meets the company’s learning and development strategy aims and objectives. The bursary does not endorse applications that cover training for areas which are a legal requirement as part of a role or those which relate to general business improvement projects.

What is Wholesale Futures?

Formerly known as The Fellowship Fund, which originated in 1964, Wholesale Futures launched at FWD’s Diversity in Wholesale Conference on Thursday 10 October 2024.

Our goal

To encourage young people to enter the industry, train them for the future, and nurture, reward and retain the brightest talents in the wholesale sector.

Benefits of Wholesale Futures

• Receive up to £3k in funding per course

• Receive up to £15k in a calendar year with the grant year running from January to December

• Company applications accepted, e.g. £15k for group training

• Diversity monitoring form included in the application process to facilitate D&I

Wholesale Futures was previously known as The Fellowship Fund which launched in 1964. Today, its new name and new look brings it into the modern-day workplace, where diversity, inclusion and equity are at the fore. FWD, Spar and Booker are trustees of the fund.
