Deals galore at first Unitas event
Buying group’s maiden out of home event is a big hit with members and suppliers
The largest-ever gathering of Unitas Wholesale members and suppliers congregated for two days of negotiating and planning at the buying group’s first out of home event.
More than 2,000 scheduled one-to-one meetings took place across the two-day Meet the Member with Take Stock event at Nottingham Belfry, with deals being struck around the clock.
This was the first activity of its sort since Landmark and Today’s Group merged in November 2018, and was focused on building long-term profitable relationships for a successful future. Members were also given the chance to take advantage of an exclusive deal package agreed with supplier partners.
“One of the most fantastic benefits of our Meet the Member with Take Stock event is the diverse nature of our membership and the incredible opportunities that this event creates for all parties involved,” said Les Mohammed, Senior Trading Controller at Unitas.
“Members, suppliers and our central office team meet in a neutral environment that mixes productive, focussed business meetings with the opportunity to further grow relationships through social occasions, making the event both efficient and effective for everyone.”
While Unitas was thrilled with the turnout, the members and suppliers were also left championing events like these as the curtain came down on the second day.
“Meet the Member with Take Stock has been a very well organised event and one we’ve really benefited from attending,” said Wanis International Foods’ Dharam Bhamra. “We’ve been incredible busy with meetings and it’s been a huge success for us.”
