“The challenge is grappling with my own expectations”
The see-saw between working from home and our family responsibilities has been a balancing act characterising the Covid-19 lockdown for many – now Women in Wholesale (WiW) is offering advice to help.
In the first of a new series of vlogs and webinars called Take Control, WiW turns the spotlight on four women within the sector who are finding ways to do their jobs and keeping their home lives in order, sometimes with young children running around.
The quartet – made up WiW Founder and Head of Communications at JJ Foodservice Elit Rowland, DCS Chief Commercial Office Clare Bocking, DCS Head of Commercial Kaley Bradshaw and Graze Head of Out of Home, Melanie Tucker – discuss their journeys through the crisis and ways they’ve found to manage it.
For some, this has meant formalising a balanced approach to work with their partner, discovering ways to look after their mental wellbeing and jumping new hurdles, such as communication.
As well as looking back at the successes and failures of the past couple of the months, the group also casts an eye to the future and what the coronavirus experience is likely to mean to the way they work in the months and years ahead.
