Record-breaking Parfetts achieves another best
Cash and Carry Showcase Week beats highest seven-day turnover figure
Record-breaking temperatures have helped to sweat the profits at Parfetts as the wholesaler’s trading numbers hit an all-time high over the summer weeks.
Powerful promotions paired with the sweltering weather gave the numbers an extra boost during Parfetts’ recent Cash and Carry Showcase Week, led to the company achieving its highest-ever weekly turnover figure, trading on like-for-like sales at £9.3 million.
The total beat the previous record, which was set in March, by a whopping £500,000 – representing a 6.45% rise.
Each of Parfetts’ seven branches broke their individual sales records to achieve the record number, which comes on the back of a best-ever trading year that saw the group end 2017/18’s financial year with total sales of £345 million and growth of 16% (excluding tobacco).
Joint Managing Director Greg Suszczenia said: “We decided to delay our traditional Showcase Week by three weeks to fully understand the impact of the CO2 shortage.
“Aside from the great promotions, we always do our very best to ensure solid availability and the last thing we ever want to do is offer our customers strong deals, only to let them down.”
