New highs at Country Range exhibition
Records tumble as exhibition achieves biggest sales total
More deals than ever were done at Country Range Group’s latest annual exhibition. Held at the Telford International Centre, the annual event saw more than 100 foodservice brands display their wares to 500-plus attendees and inspiring orders totalling £3 million.
The figure was the highest ever achieved at a Country Range Group event with each of the foodservice group’s 12 members – including recent recruits Blakemore Foodservice – looking for deals.
It was also revealed at the conference that next year’s event will take place in Manchester.
“Our annual exhibition forms an integral part of our sales and marketing plans,” said Country Range Group Trading Director, Martin Ward.
“It’s a fantastic way to get suppliers and members all under the same roof to highlight, discuss and promote the latest products, techniques and innovation on show.
“The event grows year on year and provides great opportunities to food and drink producers of all sizes to generate UK-wide business, which is highlighted by the record amount of orders generated on the day. Roll on Manchester next year.”
The exhibition was followed by a conference session that included presentations from a number of Country Range Group’s senior team and an appearance from guest speaker Bonita Norris, who became the youngest person to scale Mount Everest when she reached the summit as a 22-year-old in 2010.
A three-course gala dinner rounded off the day, with members and suppliers dressing up in 70s theme and enjoying a performance from Abba tribute act, Bjorn Again.
