JW Filshill revels in click and collect
JW Filshill has recorded a 50% monthly increase in click and collect orders as the wholesaler continues to flourish.
The Scottish business has seen the model grow from strength to strength since launching click and collect last summer, offering increased efficiencies and greater convenience for its customers.
And following a busy December, JW Filshill has seen click and collect sales increase by 5.75% compared to the same month in 2018, as well as 50% up compared to November.
Soft drinks sales in particular are on the rise under the ordering method, with a 54.42% hike in December compared to 2018, largely due to good availability of Irn Bru 1901.
“We’re delighted with the performance of click and collect, which has transformed our business for the digital age and allows customers to conduct their business the way they want to, when they want to,” said Retail Sales Director, Craig Brown.
“We did some research that told us overwhelmingly that our customers wanted the convenience of ordering online without having to leave their stores and a service that allowed them to collect their orders when it suited them.
“Retailers are really embracing technology and can see how it brings benefits to their business – in the case of click and collect, we do the hard work for them, meaning that they don’t have to spend time away from their stores searching for products and loading trolleys.”
A new click and collect lounge at JW Filshill’s click and collect lounge in Hillington has also been a hit, with customers taking advantage of the facilities to sit down with a coffee while waiting for orders.
“Christmas trading was similar to the previous year for us but Click & Collect has been a great idea – and, I’m sure, will mean more business for Filshill,” added Mark Loves who owns a KeyStore near Falkirk.
“Instead of me heading to the nearest cash and carry if I was short of stock, I now do Click & Collect and jump in my van – by the time I have driven through to Glasgow, it’s ready and within an hour I’m back at the shop. It’s a great service and a real benefit for us.”
