Trio of wholesalers top the bill at SWA Achievers awards

Bidfood, JW Filshill and United Wholesale stole the show at the Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) Achievers Awards as they each took home three awards.

The three big hitters shared the limelight – and some awards – on the night, while CJ Lang & Son collected two titles and Booker and JB Foods celebrated individual successes.

Bidfood’s Scotland division scooped the Great Place to Work award for its ability to make everybody in the business feel valued – a claim reflected in the standard of its work by sharing the Best Delivered Operation (Foodservice) title with JB Foods, and grabbing half of the Best Marketing Initiative title thanks to its Grabbing Goodness initiative.

The Best Marketing Initiative award was shared with JW Filshill our its KeyStore Football Fever campaign.

The Scottish wholesaler, which bagged four titles at last year’s event, also shared the Best Delivered Operation (Retail) award and managed to win the Best Licensed Wholesaler title outright.

Queenslie-based United Wholesale took the Best Cash and Carry award and saw two of its employees, Lorraine McPherson and Jason Butler, win individual titles – for Employee of the Year and Rising Star of Wholesale respectively.

The evening’s other awards were won by CJ Lang, for Best Symbol Group, and Booker, for SWA’s inaugural Green Wholesaler of the Year award.

Elsewhere, AG Barr bagged a brace of supplier awards, while Irn-Bru and Unilever Food Solutions were also celebrating wins.
