Record JJ Foodservice sales a credit to team and suppliers
JJ Foodservice has shown its gratitude to its team and suppliers following a record-breaking month.
The foodservice wholesaler has racked up a 13% sales increase in May 2021 compared to the same time in 2019, hitting a record sales total of £21.3 million.
This was aided by JJ’s lightning-quick adaptation during the Covid crisis, with a host of new customers – both businesses and consumers – signing up since the virus first hit.
“Our team worked day and night to keep service levels and product availability high throughout the pandemic,” said Head of Operations, Kaan Hendekli,
“As a result, we managed to win the trust and support of more customers than ever before. Our figures are the best they’ve ever been.
“The hard work of our team and suppliers has paid off and helped us to deliver every time. We’re delighted with the results and will continue to work hard to support the hospitality sector.”
While the figures are likely to be slightly elevated by the government’s Covid reopening roadmap, a 45% increase in registered customers has also been seen in the past two years.
And aided by a host of new product launches, including JJ’s Warmer for Longer Chips and environmentally friendly packaging, demand is expected to hold.
