One million up at Country Range Group event
More than £1 million of orders were placed at Country Range Group’s latest virtual development day in June.
The speed-networking event was attended by 16 suppliers including Unilever, Mondelez, KP and Kerry Foods, as well as more than 100 representatives from Country Range’s wholesale membership.
The foodservice buying group adapted to holding virtual development days in light of the Covid-19 pandemic last year.
“The feedback from our members and suppliers regarding our VBDD events has been extremely positive so it was fantastic that our latest event proved such a big hit with a staggering £1 million in orders placed,” said Marketing Manager Kate Bancroft.
“With many foodservice suppliers being hit the hardest during the pandemic, it’s vital that events like these continue so they can communicate with our member wholesalers. With more events in the pipeline, there’s still time for other suppliers to take part and benefit so get in touch.”
The 30-minute sessions ranged from new product development to specific meetings focusing on product performance and future business plans.
Suppliers were also able to send samples in advance to delegates to make the sessions as interactive as possible, with an array of new products tried throughout the two-day event.
“It was fantastic to be involved with the Country Range Group’s latest Virtual Business Development Days and we got so much out of the meetings we were a part of,” said Ornua Ingredients Europe (UK) Limited’s Stephanie Spain.
“With Covid-19 causing issues for so many foodservice businesses, it’s brilliant to see events such as these returning and having a positive impact on our future activity and plans.”
