Steve Clarke to become Q Catering Managing Director

Former Kent Frozen Foods Purchasing & Marketing Director Steve Clarke is taking up a new position as Managing Director of Q Catering Supplies.

Clarke is moving into the role after buying a “substantial minority shareholding” in the Fairway Foodservice member’s business.

The Sittingbourne-based foodservice wholesaler will benefit from Clarke’s extensive industry knowledge, having spent more than 15 years in his role at Kent Frozen Foods and also holding a directorship at Produced in Kent. And Q Catering owner Roger Snelling is delighted to have the new man on board.

“I’m delighted to welcome Steve to the business he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in foodservice wholesaling as well as business acumen,” said Snelling.

“I look forward to working with him as a share holder and colleague – my intention is to gradually spend less time in the business and let Steve progressively take over the management.”

Prior to this move, Clarke had been out in the cold after leaving Kent Frozen Foods and was delighted to get the appointment.

“Having been out of the foodservice wholesale sector for a while, I was keen to get back in and be involved as an owner,” explained Clarke.

“I have known Roger and Q Catering for some time and this opportunity to purchase a substantial share and actively be involved in the management and strategy was an opportunity I could not miss – I’m looking forward to getting back into the industry and re-newing some of my previous contacts and relationships.”
