Confex trade show returns for first time since 2019
Confex held its first trade show in three years as suppliers and members were reunited.
After a three-year break due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Confex was able to host the event across three days at the De Vere hotel in Cirencester.
The trading day was followed by the Supplier of Year and Green Wholesaler awards ceremony, where wholesalers and suppliers were celebrated for their work.
Woods Foodservice was named as the winner in the Green Wholesaler Awards, with Kentish Match picking up the runners-up prize.
“It was great to be back at a face-to-face trade show in such a stunning setting in the Cotswolds,” said Woods Foodservice Commercial Director Lana Bhika.
“We spent a jam-packed few hours at the trade show, which was really worthwhile talking to lots of suppliers followed by a fantastic dinner and evening of entertainment, topped off with our second Green Wholesaler Award win, a subject we are proud and passionate about at Woods. A great show all round.”
In the supplier awards, six different suppliers – Arla, Robinson Young, Clarebout, CCEP, RH Amar and Suntory Beverage & Food – took home the spoils (full list below).
Suntory National Account Manager Joe Kinsey was one of the attendees who enjoyed being back at the event.
“It was great to attend the recent Confex Trade Show where we had the huge opportunity to meet the members and showcase our new products whilst driving business forward,” said Kinesey.
“The show confirmed what an important wholesale buying group Confex is and we were especially pleased to be able to showcase our Lucozade Alert Batak Reaction game which helped with member engagement. I very much look forward to the next trade show and other events hosted by Confex.”
