Eight up for Parfetts with Birmingham depot opening
Parfetts is throwing the doors open for its eighth depot – a site in central Birmingham that will create more than 100 jobs.
The employee-owned wholesaler has targeted the West Midlands base at the perfect place to expand its Go Local and The Local symbol groups in the region.
The 100,000 square foot depot will officially open later this year to provide independent retailers with a wide range of regular promotions – including three weekly promotions with more than 120 products plus EDLP lines offering increased value and margin.
Birmingham will become Parfetts’ most southern depot, following in the footsteps of Aintree, Anfield, Halifax, Middlesbrough, Sheffield, Somercotes and Stockport.
“Our eighth depot is an important milestone in the development of Parfetts and our symbol groups,” said Joint Managing Director, Guy Swindell.
“It brings our employee-owned and value-led cash and carry model to the West Midlands, which we believe will help to support independent retailers across the region.”
The move is expected to aid further growth for Parfetts’ symbol groups, Go Local, Go Local Extra and The Local.
“We continue to invest in our offer with an award-winning symbol group, rapidly expanding own-label offering and a value proposition designed to support retailer margins,” added Joint Managing Director Noel Robinson. “We’re excited to launch the depot later this year.”
