Wholesale support for families in need
JJ Foodservice has donated thousands of pounds worth of toiletries and groceries to families and individuals in need
As part of the Helping Hand initiative, more 200 Helping Hand packs were donated to Fare Share Yorkshire. These were then delivered to the Welcome Centre, a Huddersfield charity that helps those in crisis with food, toiletries, and other essential items.
Each pack contains kitchen and cleaning products, healthy snacks and treats for children and were prepared by JJ’s Manchester team.
“Christmas can be a challenging period for many people, and we felt incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to make a small difference,” said Umut Akkaya, Branch Manager, JJ Manchester. “Our team is already responsible for providing ingredients to numerous schools in Kirklees Council, which made this initiative even more important to us.”
Jonathan Williams, Head of Development, Fare Share Yorkshire said: “We are grateful to JJ Manchester for their generous donation. Their support through the Helping Hand initiative is greatly appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in our community.”
FareShare Yorkshire re-distributes surplus and donated food to combat food poverty. In 2022, JJ aligned all branches with a local FareShare depot to help achieve zero waste.
