Wholesaler cooks up a storm with hospice

Having spent the year raising funds for a local charity, Harvest Fine Foods decided to mark the occasion in style

Rather than just raise funds for Naomi House and Jacksplace, which was appointed the wholesaler’s charity of the year, Harvest Fine Foods wanted to raise spirits too.

The wholesaler took a team to the hospice to run an interactive cookery workshop for service users, creating ‘dirty burgers’, Tex-Mex sides and an ice-cream station.

Shelley Kinnaird, people and sustainability coordinator, Harvest Fine Foods said: “We started fundraising for Naomi House and Jacksplace in 2023, when they became our chosen charity of the year. We initially pledged £1,500 as our target, but with the efforts from our wonderful team and the amazing relationships forged with Naomi House and Jacksplace representatives, we were able to raise a tremendous £5,000!”

Ella Clayton, senior corporate fundraiser at Naomi House and Jacksplace, said: “It has been a huge privilege to work with the team at Harvest Fine Foods to create a memorable and mutually rewarding partnership that has really flourished over the year. And to triple their original target is the icing on the cake! Huge congratulations and well done to the team.

Harvest Fine Foods’ development chef Phil Clark said: “We knew that when we were organising this special event that it would be a privilege to be part of. We had a great day full of fun, laughter and learning. It was a great way to celebrate the end of our fundraising year, being brought together by food, with ‘final party’ cookery event.”
