Wholesalers benefit from new ecommerce platform
A new ecommerce platform designed to meet the specific needs of foodservice wholesalers has been trialled with ‘excellent’ results
Ordertools is the latest launch from established ecommerce provider Foodservice Online. The new first-party platform promises to deliver powerful features, lightning-fast performance, continuous updates and ongoing personal support to help foodservice wholesalers deliver best-in-class online services for their catering customers.
“By 2030, we expect industry leaders to handle 80% of their sales through their own first-party websites and apps. The launch of Ordertools underscores our commitment to helping our clients maximise ecommerce opportunities, outperform competitors, and drive growth and profitability,” said Richard Fletcher, managing director, Foodservice Online.
Two wholesalers have already put the new platform to the test. Dunsters Farm implemented Ordertools in 2023, and grew its online sales from 9% of its total revenue to 32%, while Turner Price migrated from Adobe Commerce to Ordertools in January 2024 and has reported record online revenue, the highest number of orders and record numbers of weekly active accounts since.
“We feel like we have jumped 10 years forward in just a few months following the implementation of Ordertools,” said Tom Curtin, group technology director, Dunsters Farm. “Online sales are growing and the feedback from our customers has been excellent.”
Tom English, Turner Price marketing manager also praised the platform: “Our decision to move to Ordertools was easy. We have worked with Foodservice Online for five years, they have our trust, and we see them as an essential long-term partner.”
