Channel Island customers enjoy new product boost

Cimandis, a foodservice company operating across the Channel Islands, has launched 190 new products available exclusively to its Channel Islands customers

Several of the new ranges were debuted in Guernsey last week with the help of more than 20 different suppliers who travelled to the Channel Islands to support the wholesaler, and the Caterfood Buying Group in its first Premier and Artisan trade show in Guernsey.

The product range includes Koffman’s loaded fries, Smash Burgers, Yarde Farm ice creams, La Lorraine doughnuts, handmade Passione Pizza, Greek fare, British beef, breads and pastries, dressings, juices, micro herbs and handmade cakes.

Cimandis Managing Director Nigel Holliday said: “We’ve been doing a lot of work to refine and elevate our product offering over the last few months and we’re really excited by the quality of these new products. Naturally, our hospitality industry is so important to island life and we want to make sure that our customers have the best products in order to create the best experiences for their guests.

Caterfood Buying Group Director of Business Development Gavin Scott led the trade show. “We really appreciate our suppliers making the trip to Guernsey to demo their products and the trade show was really well attended, with a lot of great conversations taking place,” he said. “There’s nothing better than being able to talk to customers about the products and get their feedback there and then.”

“The range of foods and drinks that Cimandis can supply to hotels and restaurants to offer their guests will now be greatly expanded, which will be great for the Channel Island’s tourism sector. We’ve also seen a rise in high-quality, gluten-free foods from suppliers, which is fantastic and makes catering for gluten-free customers so much easier.”

Many of the wholesaler’s customers are hospitality and independent outlets from beach-side vendors to high-end hotels across the Channel Islands, including delivering to Herm and Sark where there are no cars allowed and deliveries are made by horse and cart.
