Local outlets receive health boost from JJ

To provide discounted healthier and more sustainable options to local restaurants and caterers, a foodservice wholesaler has teamed up with a county council

JJ Foodservice has joined forces with Hertfordshire County Council to support the council’s new Herts Responsible Food Award which encourages local food businesses to promote healthier eating habits and more sustainable options, without adding additional costs.

To help support food businesses to meet the awards criteria, JJ Foodservice is offering 10% discount on the first three orders to new customers or customers who haven’t shopped with them for 12 months.

The discount applies to a range of health-focussed and eco-friendly products such polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fat or oil products, products without trans fatty acids, products with reduced sugar and salt, eco-friendly packaging, responsibly caught fish, free-range or organic eggs and gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

JJ Foodservice chief sales officer Baris Kacar shared the importance of working with the council in this way, saying: “This initiative aligns with our commitment to sustainability and to have a positive impact on people, communities and the environment that we work in”.

The Herts Sustainable Food award has been developed by Hertfordshire County Council in partnership with Broxbourne Borough Council.
